The most difficult thing is the decision to act. The rest is merely tenacity.
-Amelia Earhart
I want to do a re-launch… and this quote is my kick-in-the-pants! I have developed a general aversion to publicly airing my thoughts and opinions, or offering my expertise because everybody has enough of them of their own, and so many ways to express them these days. I don’t consider mine to be any more valuable than the rest of humanity. But I also want my words to go beyond words and express themselves as actions. It is easy to generate influence through words and communicate something very different through actions, and those who know you face to face can easily see the difference. So my decision is to share both—my words and my actions—as effectively as I can, bite by byte. (corny, I know!)
My actions and attitudes won’t be as visible from your screen, but my hope is that the people who I share proximity with will be able to help me be more of a “do-er of the word.” We have an overwhelming challenge as individuals, communities and as a nation of being contributors and not merely commentators. It’s like trying to eat the metaphorical elephant… one bite at a time. So in the spirit of Amelia Earhart… I want to climb into the plane and take off, and leave the rest in God’s hands.
